    About Julie Benoit, LPC, NCC

Hi there! I’m Julie. I believe that life is full of situations that propel us forward and force us to change and grow as humans. I am passionate about helping others find their power, strength, and courage in order to do this. My journey to becoming a counselor started almost ten years ago when I decided to make a bold move to change careers. I went to graduate school at the University of New Orleans and from there was able to pursue my love for helping others. My life experiences combined with the knowledge and skills that I obtained allow me to truly hold space for my clients as they learn to navigate challenging times and take better care of themselves.

Prior to starting my private practice, I worked at community agencies providing intensive outpatient therapy to those suffering from substance use and addiction. I have experience with group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, mentoring new counselors, and coordinating education classes.

I grew up in the New Orleans metro area but am currently residing in Ocean Springs, MS. When I am not seeing clients I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dog (you may see her make an appearance during our telehealth sessions). My hobbies include reading, baking, and exercise. I love music, concerts (pre-covid), and chocolate!

    My Approach

I am dedicated to helping my clients find emotional and mental stability and use a variety of approaches to achieve this. My style of therapy includes a blend of traditional talk therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness. I tend to be solution focused and want to help you find new and effective ways to increase your quality of life. Together, we will establish your goals for therapy and figure out action steps to help you get there.
